My Apparently "Almost Annual" Blog Entry

Sigh...well, I knew my life wasn't exactly exciting but I figured I would come up with enough stuff to at least keep this to be a fairly regular update.  Perhaps I need to market it a little and get some folks prodding me for material...dunno.   Well, I'm gonna keep going, with the thought that at some point maybe I'll get things rolling.  I guess at some level I blame Facebook and Twitter, but Facebook for sure has dropped off the radar for me so hopefully that will help.

Well, since my last exciting post about the Stars and Rangers, a LOT has happened in the world of sports.  The Rangers proceeded to stomp the Yankees and advance to the World Series, losing to San Francisco.  Oh, and by the way they went to the World Series again, and lost in heart-breaking fashion to the Cards.  But hey, who can't help but be proud of what the Rangers are accomplishing.   They continue their momentum and hope to three-peat as AL Champions, and signed another big name pitcher in Yu Darvish from Japan.  So they clearly aren't satisfied with 2nd place.

Did I mention that the Dallas Mavericks are NBA Champions?
Dirk and his band of "old men" dispatched none other than the Miami Heat, with LeBron and his "dream team", which was definitely poetic sweetness.  The Stars have a new owner now, Tom Gaglardi, and a new coach, Glen Gulutzan.  They haven't had a stellar season thus far, but a late surge and some players coming back from injury have them holding on to the last playoff spot with the season winding down.

The Aggies and Cowboys both sucked, again.  The Aggies had yet another disappointing season, ending with a loss to t.u. and the firing of their head coach.   And the Cowboys were a pass completion away from eliminating the New York Giants from the playoffs and taking that spot for themselves.  Instead they watch from home as the Giants romp through the playoffs themselves and win Super Bowl XLVI.   Doesn't get much worse than that from a Cowboys fan perspective.  Despite the Aggies failures on the field, they are amidst huge change that brings great hope for the faithful Aggie fans: a new conference and a new coach.   The Aggies join the SEC in July, and bring with them a new, energetic coach in Kevin Sumlin.   Whew!  Told you a lot happened!
